A Converted Christian

Some people think that the baptism in water is enough to make them true Christians. They boastfully go around telling people that they are born again because they have been baptized. They are not aware that there is more they still need to work on in their lives in order for them to be qualified for the Kingdom of God.

We have an obligation to fight our salvation daily. Either in the church or not, either in public or not. We have to rid ourselves from certain things and begin applying other methods to be better Christians.

"Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them." Colossians 3:5-7

The above passage mentions things we are to PUT TO DEATH. Meaning, they can never be found in us. We have to consider them non-existing. Totally out of the surface of the earth for good. If one is still in the practice of the above, they need to deal with them immediately because God's wrath will come upon those who will choose to look away from God's instructions. Remember that we will also reap what we sow. Galatians 6:7-8

Then we have another things we have to work on. Things that are natural to every human being but they have to be dealt with. These are things also dangerous to our faith and we are being advised to put them off.

"But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him..." Colossians 3:8-10

God never asks for what we cannot do. All these He knows they are in our power to deal with. What we cannot rid ourselves from, He will do it for us.

After obeying His teachings from the above passages, we are now to "...put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed,do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." Colossians 3:12-17

Again, if you can meditate on the above verse you will notice that it is possible for you to practice these.

Words will not be enough to unleash God's revelation from the passages shared in this blog. On your own, ask God to speak to you. He will be fair and just in His revelation to you.

Stay blessed.
