Are you Better?

I have lived to see and experience the following true and very odd facts about humans:
* that those who usually say they are humble are the proud ones
* the ones who say they are good are actually the evil ones
* those who are confessing holiness are the wicked ones
* and more

Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in
themselves that they were righteous,
and
despised
others:
“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other
 a tax
collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I
thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers,
or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’
And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to
heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ I tell you, this
man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who
exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Luke 18: 9-14

It is unfortunate that this is real. God wants us to confront ourselves and deal with our nakedness. That is the only way we can be helped by the Holy Spirit. If we are still considering ourselves better than others, then we have lost all connections with God. What is left in us is deceit and destruction.

Unless we deal with our dispositions, we will find ourselves burning in one flame as the prostitutes, thieves, idolaters
and murderers.

Let us watch and pray.

Stay blessed!!!

Is It Worth It?

So much of what we pursue is fleeting. Once we acquire it, we have to try to preserve it because we know it will soon be gone.

God has promised us that just as he is eternal and will live forever, so also are those who pursue a relationship with Him and are committed to do His will. So let's sit down and look at how we spend our time, our money, and our efforts and ask if what we are pursuing is really something that is worth having.

Then let's ask one more important question: "Even if it is worth having, is it going to last long enough to make a difference?"

Stay Meditating and Blessed...

Starting Afresh with God #3: Who am I?

She had to realize who she was before what she had. She dug really deep and saw that everything she did was actually who she was.

On her death bed, she wants to fix what is broken and make sure that she dies in peace doing what she was called for in this life. "Do you know about Jesus?" She asks the lady on the next bed with passion to see her saved as well.

"I have heard of Him but I really don't believe in him for many given reasons." The lady replied. Things like this breaks the heart of the one who's greatest desire is to save souls. It is not pleasing to see that a soul is lost and has no salvation at all. She started preaching to her the good news about Jesus and the lady believed.

"Lord, it matters not where I am, if what you have called me for is to save souls, I will do it regardless. Please allow me to hold back my words and allow You to be the one who speaks through me. Thank you for this opportunity to save one more soul for you." She prayed to God.

"And we know that in all things works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

No matter where we might be or in which condition, we have to carry out the duties of our calling because we believe and are certain that all things works out for the good of those who love Jesus.

Stay blessed.

Starting Afresh with God #2: Will it be easy?

Once upon a time, the mind was filled with great unselfish acts and selfless thoughts daily. It was not about her or anything else that kept her in the comfort zone. Waking up every morning with one accord in mind: "Lord, how do You want to use me today?" was her daily bread. "Lord, even if you will use me in ways I can't see, my soul will rejoice in knowing that your hand is involved." she said.
Something happened and drastically she was diagnosed with a dreadful disease that she was told she hasn't enough time to live. She had a choice to either curse God and die or make the most of her last days pleasing God. Now every morning wasn't about "how do You want to use me" anymore but she now woke up to great confusion. "Lord, what must I pray for? My healing or should I just give thanks for my life until I die?" It was really hard for her. She thought of who she was when she was still healthy and prayed for God to use her everyday.

She was a very humble soul and all she cared about was others more than herself. She worked for others to have. She planted for others to reap, she cried for others to laugh, she endured pain for others to be happy. She was selfless.

As she lies in her death bed, confused, questions started running in her mind: Why was she so selfless? Was it because she was healthy and felt like she had something to give or was it who she really was?

To be continued...

Stay Blessed!!!

Starting Afresh with God #1: Repentance

I regret the hours I have wasted
And the pleasures I have tasted
That you were never in
And I confess that though your love is in me
It doesn't always win me
When competing with my sin

And I repent
Making no excuses
I repent
No one else to blame
And I return
To fall in love with Jesus
I bow down on my knees
And I repent

I lament the idols I've accepted
The commandments I've rejected
To pursue my selfish end
And I confess I need you to revive me
Put selfishness behind me
And take up my cross again

The words might be from a song but I mean every word in the lyrics. I am starting anew with God and I know it is the wisest decision ever. I don't take falls as death but as correction. I don't take loss as the end but as an opportunity to receive much more than I previously had.

I thank God for everything that has happened and I am humbled I had to go through what I went through.

“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.” Acts 3:19-21

Glimpse #5: You are Nothing???

Hello dear friends,

You see that person who is always putting you down and tells you that you are nothing? The one that no  matter how hard you work and how good you are trying to be but for them it's just not enough. They are the only perfect ones and you are not. Everything is all about them and what they do and you cannot convince them otherwise.  Probably you feel like giving up the fight and letting them win because you are never good enough for them.

Well, see what the below glimpse from the Bible is saying to them:

“Do not keep talking so proudly
or let your mouth speak such arrogance,
for the Lord is a God who knows,
and by him deeds are weighed. 1 Samuel 2:3 (NIV)

So my friends, hold your head up high and don't stop doing good and being good. God weighs all our deeds and He will definitely shut their mouths and dissolve their arrogance when He exalts you.

Embrace the faith and be the best.

Stay Blessed!!!

Glimpse #4: For He Spoke and it was Done

Hello my friends,

I am back with the fourth glimpse that is going to uplift your spirit and help you face tomorrow with confidence.

Did you know that God does not take any counsel from man? He is God and what He says goes. If He says for you to live, that will happen because He does not need permission from anybody to approve anything. Instead, everybody needs permission from Him before doing anything.

"For He spoke and it was done; He commanded and it stood fast."

Psalms 33:9

So whatever man says to you, remember, it might not be God's final word. Besides, God's plans are to help us be better not to diminish us in any way. So see what He does to man's words:

"The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations."
           Psalms 33:10 - 11

So tell me, how else can we bombard ourselves with fear to what people are saying and planning about us? If we serve the never changing God, we will fear no man's words nor plans for what He has purposed for us is greater than anything on earth.

Stay blessed and believing!

Glimpse #3: From Suffering to Glory

Hello dear friends,

It has been a while not saying anything here but I believe that everything happens in God's perfect time. This glimpse that I am about to share now is a definite promise from God that keeps me going and has made me see the results in the past.

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in us." Romans 8:18

So my friend, do not worry yourself about what you are going through now. Just make sure you stay faithful to Him and away from sin for this promise to be fulfilled in your life.

Remember, God is a Man of His Words, He does not disappoint.

Stay in Faith!

Glimpse #2: Character of the Lord's Worker

Hello again friends,

It has been a while not saying anything here on my blog. I trust you are having a fruitful year and that God is manifesting His presence in your life and in things around you.

As promised about the glimpse of faith to change our lives, see today's glimpse for meditation:

"A person may hold great promise in doing the work of God for many areas, but if fundamental features are lacking, he cannot work for the Lord, even though his desire to serve the Lord is genuine and even though he has prepared himself for it. He can never carry out a proper work for the Lord."

So, many are called but few are chosen. Certain characteristics are required to make out of us true Lord's workers.

May the mercies of God shape us to acquire the characters needed in order for us to be His perfect servant and do His work with all diligence.

Stay Blessed!!!

Fasting to Be Seen Only by God

“Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.  But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly." Matthew 6:16 - 18

God is the one only one who knows the intentions of our hearts. If you are fasting and it is from a genuine spirit, let it not be known by many people. This is a symbol to God that you trust in His divine power that He is is in control.

Stay Blessed!!!
