Dispositions 1 - Stubborn and Legalistic

DISPOSITION: is a habit, a preparation, a state of readiness, or a tendency to act in a specified way.

Everyone is born with a certain disposition in them. Some are good and some are bad. Some are cute and some are nasty. Some can be changed and some cannot be changed but they all can be controlled.

Now, I would like us to look at the dispositions that do not please God. Sins in dispositions. Some people were born stubborn and some are born very legalistic. Those are the ones who if they believe something to right, that is how it should be and there's no one who will convince them otherwise. In short, these people are "always right".

Mostly these people are very rigid, they are unbending creatures and they are not willing to be molded. They are often "perfect" and in their perfection, there is no room for correction. They are not gentle towards others.

The pride of such people hides under their disposition so that they will convince themselves that they were born that way. This is not Godly but for a born of God Christian, this should be a concern and it needs to be dealt with.

Ask God for help if you are one of the stubborn and legalistic people. Nothing is impossible for Him.

Watch out for our second discussion on Dispositions.

Never Doubt God

I have learnt this and I still am.

When tough situations strikes, your head spins and your nature wants to complain and find something to blame. When this happens, most times it's because we didn't do anything wrong but all our eyes can see is injustice.

"Why is my marriage falling apart?"
"Why is my job a mess?"
"Why does everyone hate me so much?"
"Why there's no one who understands me?"

etc...

With these questions we have our minds blank and we often do not have any strength to defend ourselves. And we shouldn't even try to defend ourselves because we TRUST in God. When this happens, lets be in prayer and communicate with God about what is it that He wants to achieve with us.

It won't be easy but trust me, it is worth it.

Most times His ways are not man's favorite but they are ALWAYS man's needs. Doubting God is not an option.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones." Proverbs 3:5-8

HAVE YOU BEEN A TOILET

Many ladies come to me with sobs crying that they are single and they need to have someone in their lives as soon as possible. It is not wrong if that's what their faith says to them. But the problem is when they see that guy they like and they really want to date him. They do all things to call his attention for him to start noticing them.

They expect they guy to make a move and approach them but then he doesn't. Maybe he is less interested or he's just taking his time. But the frustration exhilarates as he is not making any move.

Then they start beating themselves up because the guy is not saying anything. This is wrong! Are you a toilet that if a guy has feelings for you he has to come to you just like that without any sense of fear or respect? Are you so much of a toilet that whenever a guy wants to say something he has to say it however and whenever it pleases him?

Well, if you are valuable, he has to respect you. He has to really sweat even before he can say a word to you. Whoever has a pee goes to the nearest toilet. Regardless of where the toilet is situated or of whom it belongs to. It might be in the house of the president or in the house of a poor man in the country but the bottom line is that IT IS A TOILET and it is used for the same thing by whoever!

So ladies, value yourselves. Thank God every time a guy struggles to approach you because it simply means you are too valuable.

Stay blessed!

I can't do it

I can't

"But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you." Jeremiah 1:7.

Jeremiah was worried about him being young and not being able to speak and to that God said to him he must say whatever He commands him to say. This statement drew my attention because most of the time when we are called to do God's work we turn to think that He wants us to do what we can and that is not true.

The work is God's, and because of that, His will must be done. We needn't to worry about us doing what we can because He will do what He wants through us.

We just have to allow Him to use us!!!

Stay Blessed!

We are rooted

"You transplanted a vine from Egypt;

you drove out the nations and planted it.

You cleared the ground for it,

and it took root and filled the land.

The mountains were covered with its shade,

the mighty cedars with its branches.

Its branches reached as far as the Sea,

its shoots as far as the River"As a result, we withered and our shadow became limited; meaning we didn't save souls like we used to.

When God called us from the world, He was transplanting us from sin and rooting us into His kingdom. He cleansed us and made us to be the shadow of those who are being scorched by the sun (where we used to be in the world). He made us to be trees that are rooted in Him and evergreen.

As time passed by, problems and situations came and made us to loose track on God's care and start looking at how big our problems are.

Remember that we were rooted and made to be strong by God. So, as long as we are still here in God's Kingdom, we can still ask for revival - It is never too late to ask Him to take care of us and make of us what He wanted from the beginning.

May the Lord Jesus renew each one of us.

Nothing to lose

“My heart was pounding, but I remained silent in the police car as it sped along. Despite the feeling of having lost all control, there was peace inside me.” --- Bishop Macedo

How many times do we panic and become restless inside of us when we are facing uncomfortable situations? Our fear overcomes our faith and we totally forget about God’s amazing power to set free. We have a living example from our Bishop, though he was nervous and extremely uncomfortable, he allowed peace to flow in his heart and became quite. In this moment, his faith was connected to God.

In cases where we feel like giving up and loosing all control, we have to keep calm and don’t allow our emotions to mislead us and defile our spirituality.

Let’s remain silent allow peace to flow inside of us.

Stay Blessed!
